Gideon Shimp (19.87i) successfully conquered Earth (19.87i) in 2018 after playing Sid Meier's Civilization V for nearly 10,000 hours while in captivity and subsequently escaping.

During The Wrong Days (17.1i), Shimp foolishly sacrificed himself in order to allow Karl Gurevich Requiem to escape the dying reality and re-emerge in 17i.
