Battle for the Leaf

The Battle for the Leaf is the name given by both C.H.E.S. and the Leafeaters to the duel between Murdock mac Leod and Nuck Chorris for the leadership of C.H.E.S., which took place on the Isle of Deerness, Orkney, on 19 February 1822.

The duel was conducted in the form of a traditional bare-knuckle boxing match with Sterility-enhanced punches and ended with Nuck’s victory and Murdock’s KO in the 1527th round after an uninterrupted 3 days of fighting. Following his victory, Nuck assumed the sole leadership of C.H.E.S., and Murdock, unable to bear his defeat, left C.H.E.S. with his closest associates and founded the Leafeaters.
