Birth1444 AD
Death-17i +1548j, -13i+1912j

g5 GAMBI was a Mandinka warrior, the first protector of the Gambian Coffee, and founder of the Coffee Haus Mages (although the name "Coffee Haus" was not formally attributed to the group until British colonization). He was born in 1444 and during his early life worked as a trade mediator between the Muslim successor states to the Mali Empire and the growing Portuguese Empire. At age 21, he travelled to the city of Timbuktu while working for the newly emerging Songhai Empire. There he found a large coffin-like device, traded to him in exchange for 600 pounds of gold. Within this coffin was the glowing body of the Corporeal Beast buried within a mound of elegant-looking beans, or coffee. He brought it back to his Mandinka home village of Burong, where he was crowned the King of Coffee. After bonding with the corpse in the coffin and immersing himself in ritually prepared coffee, he gained the powers of wizardry and innate impregnation.
