Operation Grinch

Operation Grinch is the code name for a long-term operation plan devised jointly by XMAS, C.H.E.S., TAX, and the Friendly Council with the sole and ultimate goal of killing the Chimney Man.

Background

When the Chimney Man reemerged in 1903, German archaeologist Martin Gruber, who was present for His unsealing, would go on to found XMAS with the goal of eventually resealing Him. Martin was not delusional enough to think that they could destroy Him, as even the Friendly Council were unable to do so and chose to seal Him instead.

It was not until the December 1982 Massacre, which claimed the lives of every XMAS operative other than Martin, that first resolved to devise a plan to rid the world of His influence for good, for even if they managed to seal Him, it was surely only a matter of time until He would reemerge once more.

Alliance

To that end, Martin reestablished XMAS in 2018. Instead of joining forces with certain government agencies like he had done before, which had proven rather ineffective in combatting the Chimney Man, he resolved to focus on quality rather than quantity and set out to assemble an alliance of extraordinary, or rather, extrafertile, groups as well as individuals.

In 2022, he traveled to the German town of Wasserburg am Inn to recruit the ‘German Colossus’, Urtinger.
