Sterile Acceleration
Sterile Acceleration is a Sterility Technique that utilises Spatial Compression to accelerate an object, often to hypersonic speeds, by almost instantly, though not instantly compressing the space between the object and its intended target.
Sterile Acceleration is one of the two main components that make up a Compressed Punch, the other being Pressure Transfer.
Elaboration
For instance, when punching someone in the face, if the space between the fist and the face is compressed to 1/100th its original size, say from 30cm to .3cm, the fist accelerates to match whatever speed it would have to have been moving at to cover that space—in this case 30cm - .3cm = 29.7cm—in however much time it took to apply the compression.
If, say, the compression took .1ms, then the fist is, in this example, accelerated to 29.7cm / .1ms, or 2970m/s, which is about Mach 8.6. This also has the welcome side-effect of making the fist hit almost instantly, giving the opponent less time to react.
The efficacy of this technique is, thus, determined by compression speed. For most people, this is between 1cm/ms and 1m/ms, but there are exceptions.
