The Examiners of Malfeasances Attributable to Santa, more commonly known as XMAS, were a joint body of initially the MI7 and later on a reclusive faction of the KGB whose primary goal was to uncover the meaning behind and purpose of the actions of the Chimney Man with the aim of eventually re-sealing him.
The first XMAS
XMAS was founded by German archaeologist Martin Gruber after he witnessed the unsealing of the Chimney Man at the Temple of Burong in 1903.
In 1967, XMAS documented an encounter between the Chimney Man and some random Russian guy.
The first XMAS was disbanded after all of its members, excluding Martin, were forcefully relocated from -17i+1982j to +17i+1982j on 24 December 1982.
XMAS 2
After going into hiding for a decade, Martin reemerged in 2018 and established a new base of operations near a mountain in western Mongolia. Instead of joining forces with certain government agencies like he had done before, which had proven rather ineffective in combatting the Chimney Man, he resolved to focus on quality rather than quantity and set out to assemble a team of extraordinary, or rather, extrafertile, individuals.
To that end, he even visited the German town of Wasserburg am Inn in an attempt to recruit the ‘German Colossus’, Urtinger.
